Practical courses are on either Madeline, a Beneteau 411, or Sunfast 1 our Jeanneau 37 Sunfast. They are cruising yachts both offering a high standard of fit out and sailing performance. You are guaranteed your own berth and the yachts are maintained to a high level. The yachts are surveyed annually by the Western Australian Government and Yachting Australia. At Chardonnay Coast Sailing we aim to provide a quality experience. We don’t just sit you on a yacht and sail around a set course. We aim to make sure you experience the full extent of cruising including passages to different ports, as well as sailing skill development such as sailing in close quarters situations and varied weather conditions. While on board we visit locations such as Quindalup, Eagle Bay, Busselton, Bunbury, Mandurah, Rottnest Island and Fremantle depending on weather and the course selected.
We have two yachts in our fleet. Both are modern, clean and maintained to a high standard. They are comfortable cruising yachts.
Madeline
Madeline is a Beneteau Oceanis 411. Fast and modern, her teak decks give her a traditional feel. She has four cabins, two heads a large cockpit and saloon and large decks to stretch out on. Equipped with chartplotter, radar, autopilot and HF radio we take Madeline on our mile builder programs. She cruises comfortably at 7 knots and gets up to 12 knots regularly on a downwind sail.
Sunfast 1
Sunfast 1 is a three cabin Jeanneau Sunfast 37. A performance version of the Sun Odyssey she is fast and superb for sail trim development. She has a much greater range of sail control options and is a very fast racer – cruiser.
The Sunfast is a yacht for enthusiasts. With a Mylar Genoa and tall rig she is fast on the water and highly competitive. This is a boat you can sail all day in light or heavy winds and have a heap of fun.
The Sunfast is a three cabin yacht with a full galley. She has a large fridge, two burner stove with oven, chartplotter and autopilot. She is easily capable of 8 knots in a moderate breeze. Sunfast will provide heaps of fun for experienced sailors.
